Ramon Bricklaying Services has been built with family values, skill and respect for the masonry trade. What began with Dutch immigrants arriving in Australia in the 1950s has grown into a third-generation bricklaying business based in Newcastle. Today, the focus is on quality custom builds, and detailed masonry that is made to last.
Bricklaying has always been part of life for the Ramon family. From an early age, Alec was on building sites, learning the masonry trade firsthand. The skills were passed down through observation, guidance and hands-on experience alongside family members who valued doing the job properly. That foundation still guides every project today, with an emphasis on clean finishes, strong construction and pride in workmanship.
Alec became known as the Fastest Bricky through years of training and competition in Australia and overseas. He has represented the trade internationally, including competitions in England and Las Vegas, where bricklaying is judged on accuracy, technique and consistency. These competitions demand precision under pressure, not rushed or careless work.
Speed in bricklaying comes from experience, not shortcuts. Years of repetition and technical skill mean brick placement, mortar control and timing become second nature. This allows work to progress efficiently while still maintaining a high standard. Clients benefit from steady builds, organised sites and results that stand-up overtime.
We have moved away from volume project builds to focus on custom homes and specialised masonry. The work now centres on feature pieces such as fireplaces, pizza ovens, feature walls and bespoke brickwork. These projects suit clients who value detail, structure and a well finished result.
Based in Newcastle, our team works across Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley. Staying local allows Alec to remain closely involved in every project and ensures clear communication from start to finish. Clients deal directly with the bricklayer responsible for the work, not a middleman.
Every project reflects the family name and the standards it represents. From the first conversation to the final clean up, the goal is simple: to deliver brickwork that clients can be proud of for decades.
